Keep Your Data Safe

Drive down any major city street with your laptop active and you will quickly discover some of the many security vulnerabilities that are waiting to be exploited. In this exciting day of wireless network connectivity, it has become increasingly easier for a third party intruder to access your network and retrieve damaging information about your organization. The "Information Black-market" grows in scale every year.

Evolution was created first and foremost with security in mind. Through Evolution, every area of your company: From sensitive SQL Database information, Accounting Information, to even Miscellaneous Family Photos staff may have saved on their computer is locked down with one of the most advanced security platforms in the world.

All of your Evolution information is encrypted three times at 512 bit encryption. This ensures that decrypting your database can not be "muscled through". Whenever Evolution is information is passed over an internet connection, your information is yet again encrypted through a 128 bit encryption routine. This means that not matter what happens to your data (a laptop can be stolen for example), your information will always remain safe.

Why 3 x 512 and how does that mean Evolution can’t be muscled through?

Worst case scenario: If a malicious hacker were to somehow able to hack into your corporate systems, detach and steal your database information, what would happen to you now?

This is what they will find with Evolution:

  1. That attacker would not be able to attach it to any other SQL server but your own
  2. That attacker would have to somehow obtain your personalized valid CD key that only your corporation has
  3. That attacker would have to use a valid administrator or staff log in that was created by you. This locks down Evolution information in many areas as well. We will cover this soon in this our article
  4. Without being able to do all of the above, the hacker would have to somehow "muscle through" by decrypting the database

Here is where 3x512 comes in. When a hacker tries to decrypt any information, the first thing that must be done is create an algorithm that will try sequential decryption keys to unlock your data. The hacker’s computer will know it is getting closer when English words begin to show after decryption keys have been tested.

But what happens if successful decryption leads to yet another layer of encryption?

In this case, the hacker's computer would never know it got the first decryption key correct because all the end result brought would be more encrypted information: No English. This is the exactly case with Evolution. To be thorough we have encrypted Evolution’s database three times so in the event that a malicious intruder somehow miraculously broke the first two encryption keys, they would still be left with the encrypted data of the third encryption layer (and sometimes fourth). Here is an example of what the viewed text would look like: "0tKSgviKtY6ODp0S89xPo8g1oa2hYzBu". Needless to say, information stored inside of Evolution is more secure than information even stored on your hard drive or anywhere else in the world. Our data communication is secure enough for high level military applications but is available for your business automatically with every license of Evolution.

For the record:

Evolution's database access key is stored within Evolution’s encrypted database so the only way to reference secured materials (any of your information) is through the software. If you are security conscious, we suggest you have your staff change their passwords every week for Evolution.

Embedded into Evolution is a window that can store all of your staff’s personal passwords for any application or website they use. This offers a centralized, secure location for staff to store sensitive password information that can not be accessed by anyone else but them; even administrators.

Logging Into Evolution

Every corner of your Evolution is secure from hack attack or invalid employee access. Each and every employee must log in to Evolution in order to utilize any area within Evolution software; by doing so Evolution customizes their experience of the software to only show information that pertains to their job; every other area of your business is automatically locked down.

When you set up your Evolution login security policies, you as an administrator have complete control over what windows certain staff are allowed to view, edit, change and delete; what information will be able and accessible to staff. Even what areas of the software are locked down to not even give staff access to at all.

An example security scheme:

  • Your 'Salesperson' policy allows your sales staff to view only their own leads or customers and edit their own leads or customer information.
  • Your Sales Manager policy allows your managers to access their own client information as well as all of the sales people under their management but not change the lead information of sales people under them. They are completely locked out of the ERP side of Evolution
  • The division manager can see all of the above and also have access to the accounting sections, reporting and ERP sections of Evolution in order to do their job effectively, but can only change certain data
  • Your accountants can only view their GL entries and not any other information
  • Your CEO might be able to see everything but not change any accounting or CRM data
  • Your laborers can only punch in and out at the beginning and end of each day

Evolution quickly and easily customizes itself to your specific security schemes by simply clicking check boxes in the "Security Policies" section of the software. There you can set any policies you like and name them what ever you choose: Salesperson, Sales Manager, Divisional Manager, Administrator and any other access tile or type. Simply assign a staff member to the appropriate security type and all of your security needs will be met.

Successful Security Deployment Strategies

In building your Evolution security access scheme, we suggest starting at the lowest level of staff access and add access rights to Evolution layer by layer. This technique ensures Evolution will stay secure, while still allowing staff to have complete customizable access to every field they require. Every area of your Evolution software will automatically be customized to your security needs. There are well over 5000 check boxes that ensure fine grained control over your Evolution software.

A strategic added bonus to having every staff utilize their own unique login, is that you can now track "who changed what" in your company; so if any important items or information for some reason gets corrupted or lost, you as a manager will have a complete auditable trail of your information flow reference able by employee name and ID; a powerful feature for conflict resolution and management tracking procedures.

Default Security Schemes

If you choose, Evolution can (upon setup) deploy a fully customizable and automatically configured security scheme that "out of the box" contains intuitive and pre-configured permissions settings for your Sales Teams, Accounting Teams, Management Teams and every other type of staff member. Each staff member type by default will only be able to obtain access to their specialized area, while allowing your management team to see anything they need within seconds. For further customization, your Evolution security access can be streamlined with its over five thousand simple check boxes detailing every part of your security management needs.

Whether you use the "out of the box" security settings for your organization, or custom deploy your own security permissions and procedures, your organization’s information will be safe in the Evolution data encrypted vault.

Hack Tested

We keep Evolution security at the forefront of the industry security by hack testing Evolution on a regular basis. We are proud to announce that in all of our hack attempts, we have never had any database information compromised by any hacker. In our tests, Hackers have compromised the server Evolution was found in, but could not access any information about the client company stored in the locked down database. Remember, your Evolution database can only be opened by:

  1. Your version of Evolution using your specific and confidential CD key, given to you at your time of purchase
  2. Your specific administrator account - User name and password created only by you
  3. Your encryption and decryption key hidden deep within the Evolution architecture and housed in data protected zones
  4. Your specific compression and decompression key also housed deeply in encryption

Even if a malicious intruder gained access to your primary servers, compromised security, and downloaded everything within your company, including your entire database, they would be hard pressed to decrypt the 3 x 512 bit encryption deployed as a standard integrated part of Evolution; let alone the many other security features we have placed within the software itself. If a hacker for some reason decided to spend the many months (or years) it would take to decrypt the database, by the time their attempt would be complete, your database be completely out of date and considered worthless. Security is and should be the #1 concern for any business and we make sure Evolution meets and exceeds any expectations in this area.
